Debra Jean (Bornholdt) Hopkins

Debra Jean (Bornholdt) Hopkins, 67, of Peoria Illinois, passed away on October 26, 2023 at her residence after a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Peoria Illinois on August 3, 1956 to the late Donald and Charlotte (Casteel) Bornholdt.

She married Scott Hopkins on March 9, 1985 at the Luthy Botanical Gardens in Peoria. They were married for 27 years before Scott died on October 3, 2011.

Deb is survived by her siblings, Cindy (Rod) Arnett, Letha (Bob) Pollard, Linda Thompson, Laura (Forrest) White, and her best friend, Debbie Best. She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Bradley Thompson.

Deb was an avid pool player, playing in leagues with her husband Scott for several years. Later in life, she found the back of a Harley was a wonderful place to be. She loved music, going for walks, swinging on swings, and animals of all kinds. A tub of movie popcorn and a show at the theatre was a way she liked to spend some time.

Deb was a fighter until the very end. She will be missed by many.
