Francesco A. Covello

Francesco Alessandro Covello was born August, 10 1954, in Marano Marchesato; a town in the province of Cosenza in the Calabria region of southern Italy.

At thirteen Franco relocated to Chicago, IL with his father Gioacchino, mother Gilda Salerno and younger brother Joseph.

Frank married the love of his life, Marleen Gardner on March 3, 1979.

Francesco passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria due to cardiac arrest with family near by.

He is survived by his ”beautiful bride” of 46 years, their two children; son Frank Gioacchino, married to Chasity Backus, their daughter Cadence Rene (20) and sons Benjamin Martin (16) and Vincent Gioacchino (10); daughter Jennie Christina Covello married to Ryan Beck, together for 22 years; brother Joseph, married to Geraldine Lullo Covello and family.

Frank was best known as a baker. However, he was skilled in many trades, primarily employed by a handful of family owned businesses.

Frank truly loved his family. He was proud of them, his countries, culture, heritage and Chicago teams: Da Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls and Cubs. He loved his friends, working and talking with his hands, baking, cooking, camping, driving, dancing, dogs, gardening, playing cards and storytelling. Although, he loved nothing quite like his grandchildren.
