Gayle L. Quick

Gayle Lynne Quick, 65, of Rome, IL passed away on January 12, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on February 02, 1960 to Theodore and Shirley (Hedrick) Ericson in Peoria, IL. Gayle married Timothy Quick on December 01, 1979 in Benson, IL.

She graduated from Roanoke-Benson High School in 1978.  Gayle worked at Proctor Hospital for over 25 years, retiring as a Unit Secretary in the surgical department.

Gayle will be remembered by her loving husband; father-in-law James Nau; daughters: Lynne (Donawa) Fowler and Kara (Iyad) Abbed; grandchildren: Abigayle, Fayda, Saif, Addison, and Laith; siblings: Starr (Ralph) Heineke, Craig (Denise) Ericson, and Sheri (Scott) Hutchens; brother-in-law Terry (Jeannie) Quick. She also had nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

She loved being a Nana. She was her grandchildrens' biggest fan when it came to attending their sporting events. They were her pride and joy.

She loved living on the river, taking care of her cats, and feeding the squirrels.

She was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law Vada Nau.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 31, 2026 from 2-5pm at Opie's 116 in Roanoke, IL.
