She then went to Sears Credit Central of Peoria IL as a Collections Agent for 12 years. Joey then joined Ron in business at Schrock Country Woodworks and then later adding The Scented Pantry which they co- owned together. They had shops in both of Lacon and Sparland, IL for 25 years until their retirement in 2009. After retirement, they enjoyed many fishing trips to Kentucky Lake, Evergreen Lake and Lake Bloomington here in IL, and Mark Twain Lake in MO, as well as trips to see family and friends. Joey enjoyed making beaded jewelry and Christmas ornaments, sewing and quilting, making porcelain dolls, crocheting, and pretty much all crafts. She ultimately enjoyed spending time with her family, doing puzzles, and reading. She also looked forward to and enjoyed attending the bi-yearly Schrock Family Reunions for Ron’s family. In her younger years, Joey was very involved in her community by being a member of the Lacon Jr. Women’s Club for many years, bowled on leagues, participated in a bridge club, and was a 4-H leader.
