Larry Wayne Anderson

Larry Wayne Anderson, 81, of Varna passed away March 28, 2026 in Peoria, IL.  He was born to Wilbur and Betty Jane(Elliot) Anderson on September 29, 1944 in Spring Valley, IL.  Larry married Jane D. Shores in Varna on January 28, 1967.  She passed on February 07, 2008. 

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and "Plundering around" (shopping trips or mushroom hunting) with his daughter-in-law, Becky.  He also loved the Rocky Mountains, especially around Estes Park Colorado, a casino trip here or there and tracking his family history doing genealogy. Even though they frustrated him at times he would still catch a Cubs game when he could.  Larry retired in 1998 after 32 yrs. from Caterpillar/UAW 974.  He also worked part-time as a Marshall Co. deputy and Varna P.D. officer for several yrs.

Larry is survived by, son, Joe(Becky) Anderson, Varna; an estranged daughter and 2 grandsons; girlfriend, Shirley Tate, Varna; sister, Connie Krowlek, Lacon; and niece, Lynn(Brad) Hougland, Lacon.  

His quick wit, intelligence, and humorous stories will be missed by his family and everyone that knew him.
