Margaret A. Martin

Margaret A. Martin, 100, of E. Peoria, IL passed away on September 12, 2025 in Peoria, IL at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL.

Margaret LOVED animals. Margaret bred and raised Persian cats for many years and went all over the country to competitions where she won hundreds of trophies and ribbons. Margaret loved to ride motorcycles and was one of the first women in Central Illinois to own a big Harley Davidson motorcycle in 1950. Margaret got on a motorcycle and took one last ride on her 100th birthday celebration, with the help of the wonderful staff at the Villas of Holly Brook in East Peoria. Margaret had a horse that she loved to ride when she was much younger. And Margaret loved several dogs over the years. Her most recent dog that she loved was named "Murray", who is still happily living with a caring family. Margaret loved to shop for clothes and shoes. Margaret was a long-time member of the American Legion. And Margaret always enjoyed pizza and a beer with her very good friend, Teresa Freeman.

Margaret was previously married to Floyd Fasking Sr., who is deceased, and to Duane Martin who is deceased. Margaret had one child (Lee Ann Fasking), who passed away 10 days after birth in 1951. Margaret had a sister named Harriett and a stepsister named Dorothy- both of whom are deceased. Margaret was able to celebrate her 100th birthday with her dear friends (Teresa Freeman and Andrea Rhodes), her niece (Carol Ann Doyle), and the son of the man that she always loved (Floyd Fasking, Jr.).

Margaret's ashes will be buried at a late date at the Wyoming Cemetery in Wyoming Illinois.
