Sheila Marie Hufeld

Sheila Marie Hufeld,75, passed away September 13, 2026 in Peoria, IL. She was born on December 17, 1950 in Peoria, IL to John and Patricia (Kelly)Hufeld.

Sheila's siblings are the late Mike Hufeld of Peoria, Ellen & Steve Addy of Idaho, Angie & Terry Oltman of Creve Coeur, Lynne & KC Kerchner of Ladd, Rose & Rick Ayres of Dunlap, Tim Hufeld of Mapleton, the late Regina Hutchison of Chillicothe, Kitty Hufeld of Chillicothe, and Andy Hufeld of Peoria. Sheila had many nieces and nephews, with special thanks to niece, Monica Whetstone, for her kind support during Sheila's last few years.

She was involved in the following activities and societies: International Relations Association, Phi Alpha Theta, Friends of Anthropology, History Club, International House. Sheila's occupation included in depth research assistance for a variety of collegiate post graduate candidates. Sheila enjoyed researching and discovering her ancestry, especially her proud Irish & German heritage. She enjoyed a variety of memberships in historic interest organizations, for example Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc, where she the held title "The Honrable Lady Eithne ni Cheallaigh ThirChonaill". Sheila had a working knowledge of a variety of languages and was proficient in French & German.

Sheila's cremains will be interred with her parents, John & Patricia at Saint Joseph's Cemetery in West Peoria, Illinois.
