Sondie Lou McDermott

Sondie Lou McDermott, 70, of rural Wyoming Illinois, passed away April 30, 2024 at OSF St Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on January 17, 1954 in Peoria Illinois to the late William and Bessie (Lambert) Mear. On January 18, 1974 she married David McDermott in Peoria Illinois.

Most recently Sondie was employed by the Stark County Health Department as a home health aid. She spent over 7 years working there.  Previously she was employed at Southside Bank, Super liquors and Hickory Farms.

Sondie enjoyed sewing, shopping at Mall of America and her beloved basset hound El. She loved spending time with family and friends.  She was very outgoing loved attending concerts and traveling with her children.  She would always be wiling to help any family or friends.

Sondie is survived by her sons, William (Birdie) McDermott, Charles (Shannon) McDermott, Marvin McDermott; sister Carol (Matt) Romack; brother Kalvan Mear; eight grandkids and two great granddaughter.  Sondie was preceeded in death by her husband David.
